ADVANTAGES OF A DUCTLESS MINI SPLIT SYSTEM

Ductless mini split systems offer a number of advantages over traditional ducted systems. They are great for providing separate, zoned comfort control for individual rooms and excellent when it comes to energy efficiency.

  • Energy efficiency: Ductless mini split systems offer efficiencies that are significantly greater than ducted cooling systems. Say goodbye to wasted energy with a mini-split air conditioner. Unlike traditional systems, it won’t keep running when you don’t need it. You can simply turn off the mini-split air conditioner in unoccupied rooms, eliminating the constant cycling throughout the day. Additionally, this type of unit offers efficient heating and cooling without the need for ductwork.

  • Savings on energy bills: By eliminating ducts, you can save up to 30% on energy consumption, as there are no air leaks or the need for duct maintenance. In addition to providing high efficiency operation, a ductless mini split air conditioner will help save money by only being used when the space is occupied.

  • Minimally Invasive: Because it is an air conditioner without ducts, they do not require multiple trunks to run from one end of a property to another, hence eliminating the obtrusive look of boarded boxes on ceilings.

  • Targeted Comfort with Tailored Temperatures for Every Room
A mini-split air conditioner is ideal for households where family members prefer different temperature settings. With this system, individuals can easily adjust the temperature to their liking in each room. So, if you enjoy a cozy warmth while others prefer a cool environment, finding a comfortable compromise is effortless with a mini-split air conditioner.

  • Health Benefits for Improved Indoor Air Quality
Investing in a mini-split air conditioner can greatly enhance the quality of the air you breathe indoors. By eliminating ducts, this system prevents the accumulation of allergens such as dust and dirt, protecting your health and well-being. Moreover, it helps control humidity levels, reducing the risk of bacterial growth and creating a healthier and more comfortable environment during the summer months.

  • Investment: Installing a ductless mini split system to heat or cool your entire home is substantially more expensive than a traditional central air system. Nevertheless, it is a great long-term investment for your home that can save you money over time on energy bills, due to their efficiency and the ability to heat/cool only the area you are using.

  • Hardwood floors: 3.5” pre-finished, tinted, solid white oak hardwood plank

FINISHED VS. PRE-FINISHED HARDWOOD FLOORS

The floor’s finish is the first line of defense against abrasion. Wood flooring can be either finished or unfinished. However, the degree of protection varies depending on whether the floor is site-finished or pre-finished.

Site-finished flooring involves installing an unfinished wood floor and then applying the finish on-site. Conversely, pre-finished wood flooring is treated with durable chemicals during production, which are unavailable for site-finishing. Consequently, pre-finished flooring is the more resilient option against scratches.

Regardless of the type of finish and its application method, one of the wood flooring’s greatest advantages is its rejuvenation potential. Imperfections due to wear and tear can be smoothed out by sanding a mere 1mm layer off the floorboard and reapplying a fresh layer of finish. This process can be repeated multiple times throughout the floor’s lifespan, typically every 5 to 10 years.

HARDWOOD FLOORS VS. ENGINEERED HARDWOOD FLOORS, ETC.

The boards in a solid hardwood floor are made from planks cut from a hardwood tree, while an engineered plank features a top “wear” layer of hardwood that’s adhered to multiple layers of another material.

Because engineered wood floors are made with a veneer of hardwood, they are no more or less susceptible to scratches than a solid hardwood floor.

While most builders and developers are opting for more economical flooring options with engineered hardwood or wood-like vinyl interlocking planks to cut their costs by up to 2/3’s in new construction, the realty is that solid hardwood flooring outperforms engineered hardwood in terms of longevity and the ability to be refinished multiple times throughout its lifespan, thus offering a longer-lasting option and making it a far superior investment.
